“ My least favorite dish was the smoked himachi nachos. The yuca chips were stale. Everything else was tasty. Lindsey offered excellent customer service. ”
“ Had a great dinner at Water Grill. The soft shell crabs on a watermelon salad were delicious. Good wine and the windows were open, with a nice breeze and the sounds of the city, especially after the Padres game ended. ”
“ I was craving for sea food and I found water grill. I ordered fried calamari and Cipppino, they were delicious. It was the best seafood I ever had. I would come again to eat in and tell my friends about it. You must try their Cippino, it’s one of the best. ”
“ This was our first time at Water Grill, and wow, what an experience! I reserved a table on Open Table, and checked the box for "anniversary" when they asked if it's a special occasion, thinking nothing of it. When we arrived at the table, the staff had placed rose petals on the table next to a "happy anniversary" card that was signed by the staff. Gustavo, our server, was professional, very knowledgeable, and kind. He took extra time to tell us about the menu and what was on offer today, as the menu changes daily. We had the Bluefin Ahi Poke, Clam Chowder, Spanish octopus, oyster sampler, Greek Black Sea Bream and Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. Everything was high quality and tasty, but the Sea Bream was the highlight for me. Growing up in Greece, they let you choose your fish, so that you can see the size, quality etc of what you're going to order. That's not something you typically do here in the US, but Gustavo impressed us when he came back to the table with two Sea Breams to choose from. Many restaurants stateside cover their fish in thick sauces, which overpowers the fish, and finding an establishment that A, lets you see the fish first and B, grills it to perfection with just a little olive oil and some capers is nigh on impossible to find. I'm very happy to report that Water Grill does things right. The Sea Bream was cooked to perfection! After dinner, Gustavo brought out a fully homemade, three-flavor, warm and gooey cookie with ice cream on top for our anniversary - a very nice surprise. It's the details that matter! Considering the top quality ingredients and the excellent attention to detail, the price was shockingly low. Thank you for a wonderful experience! ”
“ Excellent seafood restaurant with a great ambiance. Whole fish, great raw bar, lobster roll, sushi, etc. everything you'd want from a nice seafood place, and the menu is updated daily. Definitely give the Spanish octopus appetizer a try. I've been here many times over the years living downtown and everything is always perfect. I enjoy their large windows being open during the day; it's made for some pleasant lunches enjoying the weather and people watching. The service is always great. Highly recommend. ”
“ This place is awesome. The free bread is out of this world. They have excellent lobster rolls. They have locations in LA and Santa Monica too that are also just as good. If your into seafood this is an excellent choice. Their oyster bar has plenty of options even some from new england. Definitely check this spot out. ”
“ Was staying at the Pendry for a conference and stopped here for dinner. The decor is great, food was fresh and service was stellar and easily got a reservation on a Friday evening. The bread to start was incredible, the chilled scallop shooter was perfection and the fresh tuna poke! ”
“ I came here twice during my weekend trip in San Diego! The service was exceptional and the servers were very knowledgeable. They recommended great options for me both time! We love oyster samplers, Peruvian scallops, and Spanish octopus. They are so fresh!! Cioppino (seafood in shellfish broth) and lobster roll were also very good. They also have non-alcoholic option for each of the cocktail list. The ambiance was amazing with vintage classic style decorations. We will definitely come back if we are in San Diego! ”
